Todd Monk
Born and raised in Midwestern Ontario, Todd Monk's journey as an artist began in a hockey-centric community. After studying animation and design, he completed his education in Illustration and Graphic Design. In 1995, he left small-town Ontario for the big city, embarking on a career as a graphic designer for major Canadian newspapers. He then transitioned to the Graphic Design Agency world, where he continues to work as a photo retoucher.
Todd discovered his passion for painting in his late 30s, inspired by an opportunity to exhibit in a popular menswear store. Since then, he has been dedicated to making a career out of his art. As an emerging figurative painter, Todd has developed a distinctive style known as Pixelism, creating vibrant, large-scale paintings that captivate and mesmerize.
His work focuses on luminous figures that bring glimpses of unabashed sensuality into reality. Each piece in his collection is an homage to the beauty, power, and grace of the feminine form. Through his art, he explores the layered complexities of the human experience, capturing what makes us shy, what gives us strength, and what vulnerability looks like.
Todd's paintings have been exhibited in cities worldwide, including Toronto, Miami, London, New York, San Francisco, and Dallas. His work has been featured in Fuse Magazine and Spencer Magazine, and he was named in Art Business News' top 40 artists list. Additionally, he received the Spotlight award at Spectrum/Red Dot Miami Art Fair in 2019. His passion lies in creating art that celebrates the essence of humanity, blending traditional and contemporary influences to produce truly unique works.
