<div>Gravitational Pull delves into the cyclical nature of identity, time, and memory. This kinetic artwork responds to the viewer&rsquo;s movement, echoing David Bowie&rsquo;s continual process of self-reinvention. At its centre is a container on Bowie&rsquo;s forehead, where symbolic objects&mdash;representing memories and cues&mdash;dynamically shape his identity in real-time. As viewers move through space, these objects shift, illustrating Einstein&rsquo;s theory of space-time, while gravity causes circular elements to rise, conceptually linking them to moments from Bowie&rsquo;s life. Inspired by Bowie&rsquo;s &ldquo;Width of a Circle,&rdquo; the piece symbolizes the gravitational pull of identity, with each transformation part of a continuous, fluid, and ever-evolving loop.</div>

<div>Born in Calabria, Italy, Anthony Pullano immigrated to Canada with his family in 1959. A self-taught artist, Anthony has nurtured his passion for art since childhood. Despite financial challenges that prevented formal studies in Florence, he honed his skills through extensive self-study and private art programs.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Drawing inspiration from Renaissance masters like Raphael, Botticelli, and Leonardo, Anthony developed a distinctive style that marries classical techniques with contemporary expressionism. His Mother and Child paintings on oak panel and other works reflect this blend, showcasing both traditional and modern influences.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>In the 1990s, Anthony was the first artist in Toronto to perform live painting shows. His "For Your Eyes Only" performances, where he created large, vibrant canvases in just 15 minutes to music, captivated audiences and secured commissions even before the paintings were completed. These events were held at venues like Centro Bar and Grill and Papparazzi Nightclub, as well as various charity galas.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Anthony was the first artist to have a solo exhibition at the Joseph Carrier Gallery in Toronto. Over his 30-year career, he has held numerous successful shows, particularly within the Italian and Jewish communities, and has completed many private commissions for portraits.</div>
<div>His work is part of prestigious collections, including the Vatican Collection in Rome. Anthony's paintings are also owned by notable organizations and individuals such as Sony Music, Scotia Bank, Julio Iglesias, Placido Domingo, and former Canadian Prime Ministers Jean Chr&eacute;tien and Paul Martin.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>In 2015, Anthony was commissioned by the Italian Community in Canada to create an original painting for Italian Republic Day in Ontario. This piece, praised as a masterpiece, led to the production and sale of 5,000 collector&rsquo;s poster prints.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Anthony continues to create and exhibit his work, with a new website, anthonypullano.ca, set to showcase his latest paintings. He believes that his art speaks for itself, reflecting his lifelong dedication to mastering and evolving his craft.</div>

Distant Passage

<div>
<div>Born in Toronto, Chris Carbone has been captivated by the world of art from a young age, discovering a natural talent for drawing early in life. With over 40 years of professional practice, Chris's journey as an artist has been one of self-discovery and exploration, leading to the development of distinct techniques that create unique visual experiences in each painting.</div>
<div>Chris aims to capture luminosity and drama, creating a strong sense of atmosphere. His paintings begin in his imagination, exploring the connection between abstraction and suggested landscape environments. He strives to find a delicate balance between the two, resulting in captivating and thought-provoking imagery. The interplay of color, contrast, light, and darkness in his paintings is a source of endless fascination.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Daily observations and experiences stored in his memory and subconscious come to life on the canvas. Chris draws inspiration from urban and rural settings, dynamic sunsets, dramatic cloud formations, and distant views of land and water bodies. His process is immediate, spontaneous, intuitive, and contemplative, allowing for &ldquo;happy accidents&rdquo; along the way. Observations, reflections, and decisions are made in the moment, shaping the painting at every stage. Each painting has a complexity that hints at something possibly recognizable. This freely expressive approach incorporates an element of random abandon and risk in every composition, while multiple layers of paint are built up to create the final work of art.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Chris Carbone's paintings have been exhibited in numerous galleries across Canada and have been collected internationally. His fascination with painting techniques continues to inspire him today, as he maintains a dynamic and engaging approach through improvisation. Chris's work invites viewers to explore the delicate balance between abstraction and reality, creating a captivating and thought-provoking visual experience.</div>
