Queeny Rebel Empire
Ursula Queeny Krubnik, a University of Toronto alumna, embodies a dynamic artistic spirit that has flourished since her early years. At the age of four, she ventured into her creative odyssey, crafting her inaugural oil painting with her mother's lipsticks, leaving a Cy Twombly-esque imprint on the cream walls of her childhood home. From these whimsical beginnings emerged Queeny Rebel Empire (Q.R.E.), a pseudonym she carried from her graffiti days, symbolizing her journey from street art to canvas and mural painting.
Under the guise of Queeny Rebel Empire Q.R.E. (@queenyrebelempire), Ursula invites audiences into a world liberated from societal constraints, where the empowerment of resilient women and the exaltation of unrestrained freedom take center stage. Drawing inspiration from historical female icons, her eclectic artwork challenges conventional norms, enveloping viewers in vibrant hues and bold narratives that defy expectations.
Ursula's artistic repertoire spans a multitude of mediums, including spray paint, oil, acrylic, resin, pastel, charcoal, epoxy, and found objects, reflecting her boundless creativity and innovative spirit. Despite her Toronto roots, Ursula's artistic journey has traversed continents, fostering connections with fellow artists and collectors across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe. Beyond her own creations, Ursula finds joy in curating art from diverse talents, enriching her own artistic journey while contributing to the global art community's tapestry of voices and visions.
