Orazio Caputo

Orazio Caputo is an Italian actor and visual artist based in Rome, who originally hails from a small town in Puglia. Known for his work on stage and screen, Caputo has appeared in a variety of theater productions and films, including the popular soap opera Il Paradiso delle Signore and the movie Come può uno scoglio by well-known comedians Pio and Amedeo. He has also worked with international directors such as Ricci/Forte and renowned choreographer Gabriella Borni, known for her collaborations with Franco Zeffirelli.

 

During his twenties, Caputo expanded his creative horizons, working as a radio host for Canadian Radio CHIN in Toronto. His journey into visual arts began as a means of clearing his mind and connecting with his subconscious. Drawing and painting became a way for him to channel his emotions, expressing them through vivid, unexpected colors and evocative faces on canvas and cardboard. His artistic practice integrates the mind, body, and deeper, often unspoken feelings, transforming them into unique, abstract representations of human expression.

 

As a self-taught artist, Caputo's work continues to evolve, bringing a raw and dynamic energy to his pieces. His background in performance and his experience across various creative fields deeply inform his visual art, making each piece a reflection of his rich, multifaceted artistic journey.
