Kirk Sutherland

Kirk Sutherland is a Toronto-based Canadian artist renowned for his vibrant and dynamic works. Over the last 30 years, he has exhibited internationally under the representation of various art galleries. His pieces are included in numerous public, private, and corporate collections worldwide.

 

Sutherland graduated with high honors from the Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU) in 1991, majoring in Contemporary Art and Drawing and Painting from the Faculty of Experiential Arts. His education laid a strong foundation for his artistic journey, enabling him to develop a distinctive and innovative style.

 

Born with synesthesia, Kirk Sutherland experiences a unique blending of senses, which significantly enhances his perception of color and enriches his creative process. This heightened sensitivity to color is a hallmark of his work, making him a true colorist in the art world.

 

In addition to his gallery exhibitions, Sutherland has collaborated extensively with the Hollywood film industry, contributing his artistic talents to create and design public art in urban environments. He has also worked with the music industry, designing album covers that capture the essence of the music within.
